7: More of the same

Yep, my Nanny owns a crochet hook - a little fun for inside play

Had a few goals today. Wanted to get out earlier. Needed to walk to explore beyond our villa precinct. Needed to be an early bird and have a booked plan for tomorrow so we don't miss out. And actually secure a dinner reservation somewhere.

Thank goodness for @Mindy. I would have scored one walking tick on my list of to dos! But @Mindy was onto it all even before the early birds had time to chirp.
Morning wake up play is with the early birds upstairs

With bookings in place we could manage to juggle the commitments of the day. Starting to remember that with a baby those days of a wallet and car keys as your exit strategy are long gone.
Let's hit the pool
Many faces of @Mac trying to get him in the pool
Plenty of water action
Never far from Nanny xoxo
Morning swims, poolside naps and lunch, afternoon swims, beach walk and resort discovery, pre dinner play time and some adult pre dinner drinks, early dinner and home time chats. There was bomb diving and a little NFL ball tossing (oops security guard put a stop to that) and free ice cream buckets. All wrapped up in a happy balance between action and relaxation.
Lunch choices got tick of approval

Still no fire show, no cards and we missed the sunset. Need to get our act together.

Glad we squeezed in that walk. I had no idea how massive the setup here is. Row after row of accommodation options strung out across maybe three hotel brands, ringed by water. Dr Google tells me this island is reclaimed land and is built on the tidal flats of what was once a mangrove and a mosquito swamp. And they are still building. Lots of new accommodation options in progress.
Plenty to see in the resort - chapel and massage spa on the ocean side

The pools are beautiful. Some designated as exclusively for adults but plenty of options for children. The main resort pool is a long snaking river complete with bridges and waterfalls. Apparently, it is about 4 degrees cooler than the ocean front infinity pool we have used as our base.
Squeezed in a buggy ride ... because we can
A couple of additional observations - definitely be "loose and calm" because everything here does run on Fiji time. The locals are friendly,  kind and accommodating. Been an eye opener watching our housekeeping staff move methodically but slowly - and venues, times, instructions don't always present exactly as expected.

And the second observation - all the locals want to have a chat and elicit a "bula" and a wave from the baby (she is obliging) - and then the question is "What is her name." Without fail, when "Katarina" is shared, the instant response is "That's a Fijian name." Who knew.
Massive balcony for outside play

Made our 5.30 family friendly dinner date at the Lebanese restaurant and pulled up an Oceanside table for a dinner filled woth new tastes. Cucumber (an old favouritre) was the food of the day cut on long sticks. Poor @Anth had them shoved whole down his throat in a game that entertained everyone but him.
We made it out for dinner- but didn't last long after that

Sadly, we have mentioned exit strategies today. It is all coming to a close way to quickly with just tomorrow as our last day of celebration. Mind you, the discussions have also included plans for a possible rendezvous in the Whitsundays as an option for @Mindy's birthday in 2028.

PS @Mindy's scrapes are on the improve but I seem to have a bit of food/water/dehydration.... who knows ... nausea. Hope to perk up, rather than puke up for tomorrow.

PPS that Little Mermaid top strictly for inside play - too much white skin happening. But she did love having that belly button out.
