3: What a difference a day makes

Haha, not AI, this is the real thing!

Woke to a refreshing breeze and blue skies! By the afternoon, total calm. And funny enough, that catamaran today was delivering new arrivals just a shell toss from shore. The tender boats zipped across calm seas and the staff were out singing the welcome song. Very different from our exploits of yesterday.
Calmer conditions this morning

Missed @Mindy and @Ian for breakfast -they were already out in the ocean for their scuba dive. They rated it as EXCEPTIONAL - a swim with the bull sharks. They had one on one support and were protected by their diving guide who had a sharp pronged tool to "poke away" unwanted guests. Other than a few leg cramps for @Ian and blocked ears for @Mindy it was a definite up close and personal with the big ones. 
No shortage of food or attention

Meanwhile, it was a slow wake up call for the on shore guests, followed by a leisurely breakfast which could double as a photo shoot. @Katarina is the star attraction (you are correct @Aunty Gail) and her whim is everyone's command. 
A pool for one

I know there is miles of ocean at our disposal but not so much shade out there on the shoreline, so after some creative engineering which included a reconstruction of the path, clearing of coral and rocks and the installation of a pool - we were set for the morning. A couple of litres of water, a bucket, watering can and shells - who could ask for more! 
Cheers to us, first ocean dip a success

Rounded out the morning session with a first in the ocean for @Katarina. Have to label that first foray as a success. Think low tide and the fish combined as winners!
There's a fair bit of this happening

No screens needed here for the baby, but I did casually tell @Bekah and @Anth I had downloaded some "Baby Epstein files" as a weather backup. Met with some consternation .... @Anth instantly said that wasn't going to happen. 

Maybe I meant "Baby Einstein."

And on the topic of confusion, @Ian is getting loads of attention here. Seems as if island paparazzi is jumping out from behind every palm tree stalking him! The locals are going wild with curiosity. They think he's famous. Half have him as the Witcher. The other half have him as the gospel singer Guy Penrod. They were brave enough today to ask him! @Mindy said he should have milked it for a while longer.
The resemblance is striking

Afternoon rolled out something like this - lunch, cocktails at the top of the cliff, snorkelling, massages, beach walks, couch surfing and still plenty of time for a snooze. @Katarina slept for THREE hours. This beach life is exhausting.

Sunset, dinner, music entertainment, night skies and sunset. Day done and early morning plans confirmed.

Bula - from Fiji A moving day. Needed to rise and shine nice and early to join the massive queue for the catamaran ride to the island of Kuata. Again, so many people to start the day and we weren't the only one pulling luggage along the street and corralling children safely along the dockyard. Although near to last on board, @Mindy managed to grab us front row seats - they were the best in the house - up front with great window views, easy access to the outside deck and plenty of carpet space for play (@Liz, add that to your criteria check list.) 1: So much luggage - let's blame the baby

The word of the day - airplane So much luggage, yes - but so much excitement. @Anth thinks this is all about his birthday and the celebration of the Big 4-0 .... but there may be a little person with just 18 months under her belt who is stealing all the limelight.  Whatever the reason, we are off to Fiji - @Mindy and @Ian have flown in from Whistler - @Bekah and @Katarina have flown the DayCare coop and @Mac and I are rounding out the family va-cay numbers. Poor @Michael has been left at home to tot up the census data - a non starter because his leave is focussed on a trip to Alaska (with @Mindy and @Ian) and Las Vegas at the end of the month.   The Plan @Mindy only needed a "whiff of an oily rag" to get the planning started. 5: Lapping up last island fun and relocating

Living their best island life It was our last day on Kuata AND it was @Anthony's birthday. Our whole reason for being here. So Happy Big Zero Birthday, @Anth. Party dress and early morning walks to ring in the birthday Happy Birthday! The date did not go unnoticed for the Birthday boy. The extended island family serenaded him at breakfast with the Birthday song and a traditional song sending blessings and prayers for a happy future. And, there was a CAKE and candles (those funny ones that keep reigniting - much to the delight of @Katarina!) Nothing like chocolate cake for breakfast.  A good system here where a small payment secures a late checkout if the room is available. Our oversized room became the central hub for the day and all luggage was packed and brought our way before the day's beach activities began.  @Mindy and @Ian secured a "banana boat" (a kayak) for the day and parked it outside the bure. @Katarina was in seventh h...
